Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Predictions β With Some Good News
The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been intense.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.
The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.
That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions β but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. [β¦] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season β especially in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
